Vertically Integrated Package
To further assist our clients with their electrical heat tracing control applications CANSTAL offers vertically integrated EHT skid packages. These low voltage (600V) industrial electrical heat tracing switch racks typically comprise of a transformer, distribution panel, and an EHT control panel all mounted on a structural steel frame and electrically interconnected. Other components (splitters, contractor panels, and lighting) can also be incorporated. For our customers, this approach saves time in design, engineering, procurement, project management, and field installation. EHT control skids offer a high degree of customization and flexibility to suit your applications.
Heat Trace Thermostat Sensors
STAT-TXR-ADJ Thermostat
The STAT-TXR-ADJ thermostat is ideal for applications where freeze protection or temperature control in hazardous locations is critical. This thermostat can be used in ambient-sensing applications by placing the sensor in the air or as a line-sensing thermostat by securing the bulb to the pipe or tank. The STAT-TXR-ADJ can be used as a single circuit control or as a pilot control for several circuits by switching a contactor.
STAT-LS-40F Thermostat
The STAT-LS-40F thermostat is ideal for applications where freeze protection or lower-range temperature control is critical. In cold climates, the thermostat switches heating devices that prevent pipes, valves, tanks and fittings from freezing. This thermostat can be used in ambient-sensing applications by placing the sensor in the air or as a line-sensing thermostat by securing the bulb to the pipe or tank. It can be used as a single circuit control or as a pilot control for several circuits by switching a contactor. The setpoint at the factory is 40°F/5°C.

FQA
Self-Regulating Heating Cable (SR) is a self–regulating heating cable that provides maximum freeze protection for pipelines and vessels. The self–regulating heating cable automatically varies its heat output as the surrounding temperature changes.
Trace heating is that the application of a controlled quantity of electrical surface heating to pipes, tanks, valves, or process instrumentation to either maintain its temperature (by replacement the heat lost through insulation, additionally remarked as frost protection) or to AN effect on} a rise in its temperature – this can be done by using heating cables normally named as heat trace or heat trace self-regulating heat tracing cables have an improved level of inherent potency increased as hyperbolic safety if its application is properly thought of. Beginning with the previous, at higher temperatures, the heating cable backs off its output, saving power even though not connected via a controller or thermostat.
This is not to say it’ll hold a set target temperature while not external control. However, the reduction of output is a fascinating feature from an associate energy conservation perspective because the work-piece temperature will increase.
This also offers rise to a different, extremely fascinating characteristic of self-acting cables, which can assign a T category (temperature rating) for ATEX functions and safe installation in hazardous area locations. With the decrease in power output, because the cable temperature will increase, it’s unacceptable for the cable to affect a rise to a temperature on the far side at an explicit level, notwithstanding the amount of thermal insulation used.
The power connection kit is suitable for use only with the series heating cables. The package provides material for one power connection.
There are three recommended methods of heat tracing control Sensor:
- Manual Control: MultiTrace switched manually. This method requires supervision to work effectively.
- Ambient Control: using an ambient thermostat ensures that when the temperature is below freezing, the MultiTrace becomes energized. With this method, you must recognize that even when no snow/ice is present the cables may become energized and power consumed.
- Automatic Control: this method ensures that MultiTrace energized only when a combination of moisture and low temperature are present, thereby keeping the pipes free of snow/ice. When either the precipitation ceases, or the temperature rises above freezing the MultiTrace is turned off thus conserving energy.
